Waynetown - Mrs. Alta Henthorn, 89 of Waynetown died at 3:26 a.m. Sunday in Lane House Nursing Care Center at Crawfordsville. She had lived in the community for more than 70 years. Mrs. Henthorn was a charter and 50 year member of the Waynetown Order of Eastern Star 435, of which shew as a past worthy matron. She was a member of the Christian Union Church east of Waynetown. Born Oct 31, 1894 east of Veedersburg, she was a daughter of Thomas and Nancy Redden French.  She was married to Edgar I. Henthorn on Aug 7, 1912.  He died April 23, 1979.  Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law Carl and Margaret Henthorn of Crawfordsville; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Albert (Mildred) Henthorn of Waynetown; six grandchildren including C. Rex Henthorn of Crawfordsville and Tom Henthorn of Waynetown. She was preceded in death by a son, Albert, three sisters and two brothers. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas Funeral Home here with Rev. George Beatty officiating.  Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Alta Henthorn, 89, Waynetown, died at 3:26 a.m. Sunday, December 18, at Lane Home Nursing Care Center in Crawfordsville.
  Born October 31, 1894 near Veedersburg, she was the daughter of Thomas and Nancy Ridden French. On August 7, 1912 she married Edgar L. Henthorn, who died in April of 1979. She had resided in the Waynetown community for 70 years and was a charter and 50 year member of Waynetown Order of Eastern Star 435 and had served as Worthy Matron. She was a member of Christian Church of Waynetown.
  Survivors include a son, Carl F. Henthorn of Crawfordsville; and six grandchildren.
  Services were conducted Wednesday at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. George Beatty officiating. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. -s-
